The To-Do List just grew

November 3rd, 2006 by Restless Knitter

I have many excuses for what I did.

  1. I was tired of thinking about paint colors.
  2. I’m jealous of all those people that went to SAFF and Rhinebeck and are flashing their recent purchases.
  3. I finished the border on one end of the purple mystery stole.
  4. I finished a headband to keep my ears warm when I walk the dog.
  5. They’ve (work) been giving me really boring work to do therefore I’m, well, bored.
  6. I’m tired of sorting through our crap, trying to decide what to keep, sell, freecycle, and trash.

See, all valid reasons.  What was it I did? I bought a book and paid full price. Once I saw it, there was no way I could wait for Overstock or Amazon to ship it to me. I had to have it Right Now. Which book, you ask? Victorian Lace Today by Jane Sowerby. I’ve taken pictures of the ones that I like the most…

This is the same as the previous one, different view

This one can be made in 3 shapes, here are 2 of them

This is the same as the pink one but has a larger border

Oh, wow! I HAVE to get that book.

Hey there! I was thinking about you this morning. I jumped out of bed and searched for my felted clogs (that were on my feet just last night). When I couldn’t find them, I started thinking about the felted slippers you made. I think I’ll have to add those to my “to knit” list!

The book you purchased has beautiful things in it! One of these days I’ll try more than a simple lace pattern! Which pattern are you going to knit first?

OMG, I was just thinking about that book! The pictures look pretty good. I really may need to get this one, since I am All About the Lace these days. :)

My dear - for your reason no. 2 - have brought you back a sheep. I AM NOT KIDDING! Will I see you soon? It wants to go to his new home. I can’t stand the baabaabaabaabaa anymore. :-) Thanks for the book. I have to get a copy now… Have a great weekend!

I’m horribly jealous of the SAFF’ers myself still.. but I’ve busied myself with spinning and threw myself into creating for the shop.. I nearly bought “Generation Tee” for cutting up teeshirts full price from B&N the other day for the same reason.. but I resisted.. because I’m a cheapskate.

I sat and looked through every lace book I own-which is most of them-and couldn’t find a thing I wanted to make from my skank of brooks farm mohair so now I, too, must get this book. It may not have anything I want to make either, but at least I’ll have looked in another book’s worth of designs and will feel even more righteously pissed.

Once I recover from Lace Overload, I have a feeling that I’m gonna need this book too!
