Second verse, same as the first

Only in a different color, and on a post outside instead of on a table inside.

After going to the CHG open house last weekend, I’ve been doing a bit of internet surfing. After the first excitement wore off when I got the loom, I began to wonder if I’d really gotten that great of a bargain. After trying in vain to get the rust off the reed, I knew I’d have to buy a new one. Those aren’t exactly cheap so that adds to the cost of the loom. I’ll have to buy shuttles, bobbins, lease sticks, a reed hook, etc. But after looking at some of the sites where people are trying to sell their looms, I’m back to the thought that I did get a bargain. I’ve seen similar looms going for hundreds of dollars, and while some do come with some accessories, I haven’t seen one yet that comes with everything. Sure, I’ve had to do a little work to get mine looking “pretty” but that makes it all the more special for me. I still have a lot to learn, especially how to warp. If no beginning classes come up soon, I may rent a few videos from SmartFlix. And since the two books that I have are in storage, I’m planning on going to the library today and picking up a few books.  There’s only so much staring at a computer screen that I can do.

Dude, I’ve probably got a couple of shuttles and bobbins I could *give* you!

Just went and looked, and yup, I’ve got a large shuttle and a small shuttle with a couple of bobbins apiece that I can let go. I won’t part with my bobbin winder, though. :)

Love the red hat! I know what you mean about staring at the computer screen. If I’m reading something important (or long), I print it out then read it.
