Is she a yellow lab? If so, thats just what happens...I've never had a yellow lab who's nose didn't turn pink at some point, even with stainless steel dishes. Totally normal! That's why the vets always say to take lots of pix while they're babies and their nose is black...

Janice beat me to it. I was going to say switch to stainless steel or pottery bowls for her food and water. It can take months for it to change back, but people are usually stunned that it works.

The pizza/oven thing sounds exactly like something I would do. Make a deliberate choice to ignore something with the idea that it will save me trouble and end up having twice the mess on my hands because of it. I'd say something like live and learn, but I never do.

Leave it to Janice to know why a dogs nose changes color! If those ideas of hers don't work.. you can always knit the pup a nose cozy - in black of course!

Have you changed her food/water dishes recently? This question comes up on dog lists occasionally.
From here:
http://www.happyk-9.com/dog-nose.html
Sometimes a dog's nose will change color. This can be caused by having your dog eat or drink from a plastic dish. There is a reaction with a substance in the plastic which causes color change. Stainless steel bowls for food and water are highly recommended. Other causes of color change are vitaligo (loss of skin pigment) and cold weather. Color usually goes back to normal in warmer climate. This is usually no reason for concern.

Go get a black marker?! :) Did the vet say if that kind of thing usually happens? Maybe it's part of aging. Bella is beautiful, by the way.

E and I were talking about you and Bella today. We drove by a doggie day care place that showed the back end of a dog on their sign. We wondered if that's where you take Bella.
