You know - sometimes I think the 5-year olds have it right. They know what they want out of life and are NOT afraid to ask for, even demand it. I think we all wuss out too much under guise of being “polite” or “adult.” Embrace your “Because I’m 5″ - you’ll never get what you want out of life unless you stand up and demand it!

Dude, you reminded me of the mountain bike ride excursion I took when we went on our cruise to Alaska a couple of years ago. Most of us were grown-ups, but there was a girl who was about 10 or 11 there too, and she always had to try to zoom ahead of the adults. In an incredible “because I’m five” moment, I HAD to race her to the stop at the end of the ride.

And I won too. Neener neener, little GIRL.

I think you’ve given Blogistan a new phrase/excuse.

Thank you for the giggle snort. I have been dealing with a sick man all weekend and ‘because I’m 5,’ I wanna whine now - “When is it my turn?”
