More house stuff

July 4th, 2007 by Restless Knitter

So, we found a house. It wasn’t so much the house that we wanted, but the land it sits on. The house itself is kind of Ick and not my cup of tea. After everything is said and done, I’ll share the reasons why. The inspection will happen next week, let’s hope that goes well.

The good news is that I want to knit again. (And can I just say that I am so jealous of all you people who’ve gotten in to Ravelry. Not that I could have put anything in it in the last 6 weeks, but I’m still jealous.) After a small trip to Michaels, I was on my way to making some bags. I don’t like the one I made yesterday and will probably rip it all out. I like the one I made today much better. Maybe tomorrow I’ll take a picture of it, sans straps/handles since those aren’t done yet.

Here’s news. I’m pissed off at iTunes. Imagine that, me being pissed off about something. Shocker, I know. iTunes has decided that whenever it does an automatic check for podcast updates, it wants to lock up. I’ve tried uninstalling, going back to an earlier version, unsubbing from ones that I think are the problem, and cursing at it. The only way I can get updates is to select each podcast individually. Hate you iTunes.

When hubby put in a new hard drive in my computer and reformatted.. Itunes decided that I wasn’t who I said I was (because of the ip address) and refused to let me listen to ANY of my purchased music! It took nearly a week of typing in my password and account information any time I wanted to listen to anything. I was ready to cry.. thankfully it fixed itself. I think.

The one with the pink bedroom? With a coat of paint, it’ll be nice!!
I’m still waiting on my Ravelry invite, too. Mind you, all I need is another time sink!

Itunes sucks big ones. But to hear the macophiles tell it, all their products are perfect with no problems, ever, especially freezing up so it’s probably the rest of us who are wrong. Good luck on the house!

    Hooray house!

I think they’ve been sending out Ravelry invites pretty quickly lately. You’ll like it over there when you get on.

I have 3 mp3 players. None of them is an iPod. I really only use two regularly. I like my Cowon D2 best, but it doesn’t currently support Audible content, so I use my little RCA Lyra for that. My Sansa is just a backup. :) There are other podcast catchers out there — Juice, MyPodder, etc. I use MyPodder, and it generally works pretty well.

Of course now that I’ve said that, the company will go out of business or something next week, and I’ll be scrambling again.

Congratulations on finding some land with a house on it! :) Can’t wait to hear about it. And I’m glad the knitting is coming back. Too bad about iTunes. We sometimes have trouble, but things usually work out eventually.
