When I moved from the east coast to the west I didn’t notice that quirk about the highways right away. It was when my parents came to visit and asked why my boyfriend (native to CA) said “the” before all the highway numbers. Sometimes in MA we said “route” before a highway number. They never do that in CA.

I’m not really too phobic. I don’t like heights, but that’s because I’m afraid of FALLING, not afraid of the heights per se.

And dude, the reason that staph infections are so bad these days is because of overuse of antibiotics and stuff like that. Those cleaners that kill 99.9% of the germs? The .1% that it DOESN’T kill live to pass on those resistant genes to the next generation. So by using hand sanitizers, you’re helping germs evolve.

We’re all doomed. Dooooommmmmeedd, I say.

The eight legged things, hands down. We’re of two minds whether we’ll hire a car while we’re in the US. David wants to, but I’m scared of those highways!! (And some of the lunatics on them!) And driving on the wrong side of the road. And the wrong side of the car.

My phobia? I can only name one?! I share the germ one, to some extent. I just try not to think about it or else it would drive me mad, especially while traveling and sleeping in hotels.

I’m glad to hear the roads and drivers are better out there!
