My Weekend

October 2nd, 2007 by Restless Knitter

Remember when you were in grade school and your assignment was to write a report on My Summer Vacation? My reports were mostly boring because we didn’t do anything special during the summer. But My Weekend? It was another fun one. Picture heavy so I’m putting it after the bump

The Man has talked for a year about the Italian festival he went to last year (with his uncle and family, I wasn’t here yet) in San Diego. We googled and found there was a festival in Hollywood this last weekend and off we went. I saw this guy, dressed a little funny, that reminded me of someone I’d seen pictures of. I looked a little farther and there was La! I have no idea why but I got so excited to see someone that I knew that I practically ran over to the table where La was sitting. Then I stood in front of her like an impatient little kid (look at me, stop talking to those other people, I’m here, me me) until she saw me. Seriously, looking back on it, I probably looked like some weirdo giving her the stare-down.

And no, my hair isn’t nearly as dark as it was in the last picture. That’s because I can’t seem to make up my mind what color I want it to be. And also, I appear to ramble. Again.

Moving on!

I really wasn’t that impressed with the festival. Back in Alpharetta, they have A Taste of Alpharetta and there are so many different foods that you really can’t get to them all because you get full. You also didn’t have to pay a huge fee to get in, nor $15 to freaking park. So yes, I was disappointed in the food and cost part, but not in the seeing a friendly face part. The Man tells me the one in San Diego is much bigger so maybe next year we’ll catch that one.

There are interesting things to see at any large public gathering and this one did not disappoint.

If this is you, for the love of Pete get a longer shirt. If you have no shame in showing your ass crack, I have no shame in taking a picture of it (much to The Man’s horror heehee).

No ass here, just goats, a llama (first time I’ve heard someone call it a Yama and I giggled, I’m so ashamed) (or not), ducks, sheep, an older woman teasing the duck with a twist tie that I wanted to reach out and slap because then she called over her three kids to get them in on the action what is wrong with some of you idiots.. breathe… chickens, and a bunny.

Look at this little guy, isn’t he cute

How’s about a little kiss

Over the course of the weekend, I also started two shawls.  One on Friday, one on Sunday.   More on those later.

I was so thrilled to see you there too, you have no idea, or maybe you do! Your hair looks gorgeous. I like the color it is now.

Did you catch a glimpse at the little preggers goat? She’s SO cute!

BTW, what IS the prize for finding the most outrageous person at the fest, and taking a picture of her with her pants down…literally. I’m thinking yarn

What a fun weekend! I would have been thrilled to see someone I know, too. It’s not like you live in a tiny little town where you see familiar people all the time.

Your hair looks great and it’s nice to see a picture of The Man. You’re a cute couple. And you’re very funny. I had a good laugh at your post.

You started TWO shawls over the weekend?! Wow! I’m trying to guess which ones.

You and your husband are such a beautiful pair! You look like teenagers…and I’m so jealous you got to see La again! Are you still coming to SAFF? HMMMMM?

You’d think that woman would have been very uncomfortable with her ass crack bared to the world. Good Lord!
