SAFF part I

October 30th, 2007 by Restless Knitter

It’s really hard to sum up SAFF with one word. If I had to choose just one, it would be AWESOME! but that word doesn’t fully explain the joy of seeing missed friends, spending time with them, the laughter, the shopping, the animals, the beautiful scenery, and just plain relaxing.

If you want to see some pictures, they’re here. As much as I’ve tried to write up a proper post, it ends up being too long and I delete it. So in a nutshell:

  • Left at 1am Thurs morning, arrived at hotel around 10:30 or 11:00am
  • Started a sock in the airport, slept a bit on the plane
  • Room wasn’t ready until 2:30 so knit in lobby
  • Shopped on Friday, spent more than I should have
  • Much fun at dinner
  • Weaving class Saturday morning
  • More shopping after class, someone stop me!
  • Blogger/ravelry meetup (where I was too shy to talk to anyone, ugh)
  • Early to bed Sat night, early to rise Sun morn (4:15, yuck)
  • Delayed flight to Atl
  • 20 min to run to flight from Atl to LA
  • Home

Maybe I’ll write up a proper post in a day or two.  For now, check out posts made by ESC and Grace.

It was SO good seeing you! I wish we could have spent more time together. Maybe next time you come by, k?

sounds like you had such a good time. Pics of the haul would be in order. I do believe that, because I haven’t been to a fiber fest w/animals, in years, it would be a good thing to humor me here. OkieDay?

Wow! What a fun (and fast) weekend you had. It must have gone by in a blur. That’s great that you were able to see so many friends! I’m glad to see the pictures of SAFF itself, too. It looks a bit overwhelming!

How did you fare with those fires? That was some nasty stuff! The smoke in your pictures looks awful–it makes me want to choke just looking at it!

It was almost bittersweet. Hated to send you back to L.A.! And I never said thank you for all the appetizer goodness, so thank you!
