I said I was bored, not that I was giving up. The pattern has a picture that shows what colors go where but I’m not using it so every time I pick this up, I go through the process of trying to decide what color combo to use for the next block. I could have substituted my colors for their colors and used their suggestions in that way but that would have been too easy. How hard can it be to pick two colors out of the bag and use them? Well, it’s not hard, it was just driving me crazy trying to make sure I wasn’t going to end up with too much of one color in an area. Enough of that. I used Excel to make colored squares and made my own color chart. It’s making it much easier on my brain, at least for that last square. I r so smaht. (Now if I’ll just stick to it.)

I know y’all are waiting with bated breath. We got an offer. It sucked. We countered. They thought it sucked. Georgia is going to have to put up with me for a little while longer.

I don’t know what to say to this. I’m not trying to make fun, I’m really not, because I think it was a serious request. At the same time, I can’t help but think what the ….

Baby’s mom went back to work yesterday, though she didn’t work a full day. Younger daughter watched the baby and took a few pictures. I’ll share this one.

I chose this one for a particular reason. See the sweater he is wearing? It’s a handknit sweater. But I wasn’t the one who knit it. Donna did! The kid doesn’t have a sweater from his Nana, but he does have one all the way from Australia. Thanks again, Donna!

I’m still working on the blanket. I don’t know if I’m exactly bored with it yet, but I can’t say I’m enjoying it either. It’s not the knitting that is so bad. It’s knowing all the ends I’m going to have to weave in and the seaming of the strips I’ll have to do. And while I’m not exactly bored of the knitting itself, the colors are a little boring for me. I’d rather have big bold colors.

Here’s something you’ve never seen before
ht3.jpg

Ha, I lied. This one was made with Plymouth Encore DK. The red one in the previous post was Caron Simply Soft Tweed, and the brown one before that was made with something I got at Hobby Lobby.

Next up is a baby blanket of blocks. Here’s block 1

blck1.jpg

Daughter previously wanted a ripple blanket. I had just picked up the Spring 2007 issue of Knit It so I had the crazy idea to give her a choice. She chose the blocks. One down, 34 to go. The ripple would have been so much easier. Who wants to place bets on how long it takes me to get bored with blocks?

I swore to myself that I wouldn’t do any more blogging about the house but I just can’t resist one more comment. People are using the restroom here while house hunting. How do I know? There are a couple of ways. One is that the lids are always down on the toilets here (don’t need the cats jumping in one or the dog drinking from one, and I think it just looks nicer to have the lid down) and I’ve come home to a lid up a couple of times. The Man suggested that maybe they’re just looking to see if they’re clean but I don’t think so. I don’t normally keep close tabs on the toilet paper but when it’s hanging way down and I didn’t leave it that way, well, someone else did it. I can’t imagine going into someone’s house and using their bathroom. I had wicked thoughts of putting itching powder on all the toilets in the house each time I have to leave. That wouldn’t help the house sell but it would sure as hell give me a laugh!

The baby wanted another baby hat, only leave off the earflaps please Nana. Okay.

Look, it has a pop top.

I started this 2 days ago. I might have finished it that day, but I tried to poison myself by eating some bad food and ended up in the emergency room. I’m assuming it was food poisoning, mostly because I don’t remember ever being that sick in all of my life. There were 3 other people that came in around the time I did with vomiting also, so who knows. None of them were doubled over, moaning like they were dying, though. It was bad enough being sick, but it was worse that someone had to see me sick, take me to the ER, and I tossed cookies (again) on the way there. After some nice drugs, I was sent home. Yesterday I still felt a little queasy, and today I’m feeling pretty much back to normal. And that’s why I didn’t finish the hat until today. Aren’t you glad I shared?

Next I’m going to do house complaining, simply because I like to complain. But you don’t have to suffer through it unless you want to…
