Irritation for the day: I discovered that I’m not getting email notifications of all the comments. I was going through previous ones and found some that I’d never seen before. My apologies, I wasn’t intentionally ignoring anyone. Stupid blog host.

Enabling Georgia knitters: The Oconee Yarn Company and Mockingbird Hilltop Farm. I’d also point you to the free llamas (not in GA) but I’m sure they’re gone by now.

Now for the good stuff!

Those are ends. A LOT of ends. Guess where they came from.

Give up? Or did you get it right?

Yay, it’s done! I have such a terrible habit of not finishing anything that I’m a little surprised myself. I finished the knitting Sunday after The Man left, and finally got all the ends woven in and seaming done yesterday.

Pattern: Color Block Baby Blanket, Knit It Spring 2007

In house news (oh come on, you knew I’d bring it up), the inspection is tomorrow morning. According to our realtor, the new owner is back in California (ironic, isn’t it) and probably won’t be here, so we probably won’t get the list of demands until at least Thursday. If all goes well, and our realtor thinks it will, then we’ll be moving May 22 or 23. Daughter E is going to ride out to CA with me and the pets, partly because The Man doesn’t want me driving the whole thing by myself, and partly because she has some drama going on in her life. I’m hoping that she will like the area so much that she’ll be willing to get the hell out of Small Town and live with us for awhile.

I know you all are crossing your fingers for us. It means a lot to me, it really truly does. Thanks for listening to me vent about the stupid little things and hanging in there with me.

I said I was bored, not that I was giving up. The pattern has a picture that shows what colors go where but I’m not using it so every time I pick this up, I go through the process of trying to decide what color combo to use for the next block. I could have substituted my colors for their colors and used their suggestions in that way but that would have been too easy. How hard can it be to pick two colors out of the bag and use them? Well, it’s not hard, it was just driving me crazy trying to make sure I wasn’t going to end up with too much of one color in an area. Enough of that. I used Excel to make colored squares and made my own color chart. It’s making it much easier on my brain, at least for that last square. I r so smaht. (Now if I’ll just stick to it.)

I know y’all are waiting with bated breath. We got an offer. It sucked. We countered. They thought it sucked. Georgia is going to have to put up with me for a little while longer.

I don’t know what to say to this. I’m not trying to make fun, I’m really not, because I think it was a serious request. At the same time, I can’t help but think what the ….

I have a twitch in my eyelid. So annoying. I was going to take The Man’s truck for an oil change today but I feel like I’m winking at everyone and I don’t want to be winking at the oil dudes. Yeah, that’s a lame excuse but it’s the one I’m using.

Y’all know how often I knit socks, right? And do you know how much I need more yarn?

You know, my only excuse is that it feels like I hardly have any yarn (since mine is you-know-where). And it was pretty. And it has tencel. And merino. And one skein is enough for a pair of socks. And, uh, I was caught in a moment of weakness? It’s Seacoast Merino/Tencel Sock in the Watercolor colorway. Who cares that I have an unfinished sock on the needles (from month’s past), I want to find a pattern and knit with this instead.

Progress has been made on the baby blanket

I’m not really bored with it. Yet. I do find that I need to take breaks from knitting on it. I just don’t like knitting with Cotton Ease. I feel pretty stupid for buying as much of it as I did. But, you know, it was being discontinued and it was on sale and everyone else likes it so must buy it before it’s gone omg! I really wish I could trash the entire stash and start over. That’s a fib, I wouldn’t want to trash the stash. But I will make wiser choices in the future. You know, like buying sock yarn when I don’t knit socks.
