I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I totally enjoyed mine. Along with the turkey, The Man’s aunt (she’s Italian) made real lasagna which was absolutely the best lasagna I’ve ever tasted.

i got quite a bit done on the shawl while I was away. So much that I finished the center section, and have started on the edge.

I was having a bitch of time with it in the beginning. In the charts, there is a red /. It says K2tog; or SSK for directional decrease. I think I was reading too much into it at first because it confused the crap out of me. How can one / be both a K2tog and a SSK at the same time? After looking in the techniques section, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s red because that red k2tog is where you would normally expect a ssk so pay attention and don’t do what you’d normally do. I could be way off base but it seems to be working so far. Hard to tell since I don’t have that much done. I also had issues with getting it attached so the right side of the edging matched the right side of the center. In a nutshell, I made everything more difficult than it needed to be. (Am I the only one with a dirty mind, or does that picture look naughty to you too?)

This will be a surprise to everyone that knows me. Something new is on the needles. Not surprised? No, I didn’t think so. You get three guesses to figure out where I got the pattern. If you guessed Victorian Lace Today, you’d be right.

This is the beginning of what she calls Large Rectangle in Spider Net. The pattern calls for Knit One, Crochet Too Douceur et Soie and size 4.5mm/US 7 needles. I’m using Alpaca Cloud in Peppermint and a 3.75mm/US 5. Mine will be smaller than it’s supposed to be, but I’m okay with that. The yarn is so soft. I can’t wait until it’s done and I can wrap up in it.

I have finally decided on a paint color for the bedroom. I’d been making trips to Sherwin Williams, having them mix samples of different colors. What would look light on the paint chip would end up looking too dark once I got it on the wall. I went back the other day and whined about not finding a color I was happy with. One of the guys suggested a beige and showed me the paint chip. “Fine, just mix up a sample and I’ll try it.” When I got home, I took a closer look at the color name.

I do believe that’s a sign.

The Man is going to be home this weekend, woohoo! Today will be spent making the house look like I’ve kept it neat the whole time he was gone. I like to pretend that he’s a bigger messer than me, no need for him to know the truth.
