I’m such a bad blogger. I’ve received things from other people and haven’t gotten pics of them up yet. What’s worse is I just got back from Small Town and I need to charge the battery on the camera before I can take any more pics. So, how’s about I at least tell you about them.

A while back, I won a contest over at Life’s A Stitch and got some lovely Fleece Artist yarn as my prize. I’ve played with it quite a bit, but haven’t found that perfect pattern for it yet.

At the SnB I went to so I could meet La, Claudia asked me if there was anything she could bring back from SAFF for me. I jokingly told her a sheep. But that’s just what she did, she brought back a kit for me to make a felted sheep. How sweet was that!

Pictures I did get taken before the battery began it’s nap

This was taken on the way to Small Town. I have another pic taken that day but you can’t see it until Wednesday. Doesn’t it look like someone unzipped the clouds? (more…)

This will be a surprise to everyone that knows me. Something new is on the needles. Not surprised? No, I didn’t think so. You get three guesses to figure out where I got the pattern. If you guessed Victorian Lace Today, you’d be right.

This is the beginning of what she calls Large Rectangle in Spider Net. The pattern calls for Knit One, Crochet Too Douceur et Soie and size 4.5mm/US 7 needles. I’m using Alpaca Cloud in Peppermint and a 3.75mm/US 5. Mine will be smaller than it’s supposed to be, but I’m okay with that. The yarn is so soft. I can’t wait until it’s done and I can wrap up in it.

I have finally decided on a paint color for the bedroom. I’d been making trips to Sherwin Williams, having them mix samples of different colors. What would look light on the paint chip would end up looking too dark once I got it on the wall. I went back the other day and whined about not finding a color I was happy with. One of the guys suggested a beige and showed me the paint chip. “Fine, just mix up a sample and I’ll try it.” When I got home, I took a closer look at the color name.

I do believe that’s a sign.

The Man is going to be home this weekend, woohoo! Today will be spent making the house look like I’ve kept it neat the whole time he was gone. I like to pretend that he’s a bigger messer than me, no need for him to know the truth.

The To-Do List just grew

I have many excuses for what I did.

  1. I was tired of thinking about paint colors.
  2. I’m jealous of all those people that went to SAFF and Rhinebeck and are flashing their recent purchases.
  3. I finished the border on one end of the purple mystery stole.
  4. I finished a headband to keep my ears warm when I walk the dog.
  5. They’ve (work) been giving me really boring work to do therefore I’m, well, bored.
  6. I’m tired of sorting through our crap, trying to decide what to keep, sell, freecycle, and trash.

See, all valid reasons.  What was it I did? I bought a book and paid full price. Once I saw it, there was no way I could wait for Overstock or Amazon to ship it to me. I had to have it Right Now. Which book, you ask? Victorian Lace Today by Jane Sowerby. I’ve taken pictures of the ones that I like the most… (more…)
